Sleep Dreams
Sleep Dreams is an event geared towards making the dreams and wishes of 35 children come true. The Community First Insurance, Inc., along with many sponsors and community donations, provides up to 35 beds for children who before were sleeping on floors, air mattresses, or couches.
Every year, the Community First Insurance, Inc. reaches out to our local elementary schools here in Winchester, KY. We have direct communication with the guidance counselors who help coordinate and select the children most in need.
Our mission is to make this event special and all about the children. We supply each child with a bed, bedding, a backpack full of hygiene products, a chapter book to read, a coloring book, school supplies, and a journal. Special appearances are made by Santa Claus, the police station, the Winchester Fire Department, high school sports teams and players, as well as a host of volunteers. They always play a huge role in making this day happen!
At the end of the day, after all the months of planning and gathering supplies, and all of the preparations and stress, the smiles on each face makes all of it worth it. Sleep Dreams has become the most enjoyable event that Community First Insurance, Inc. hosts.
Senior Expo
Seniors have always had a special place in our hearts here at Community First Insurance, Inc. When Agency Principal Jessica Durphy moved to Winchester, she noticed that there was a lack of events for seniors.
As soon as the Community First Insurance, Inc. was established in the community, we began an Annual Senior Expo. Each year the Expo has grown and the attendance has tripled. At the Expo, we feed seniors a healthy lunch and generally have anywhere from 25-35 vendors offering tons of free advice and information for those circumstances specific to seniors.
We are thankful that the city of Winchester has allowed us to put on this event, and even more thankful to play a part in assisting our seniors with vetted local businesses who have their best interests at heart.
